We hope that everyone could recharge their batteries and start the year with some news from the SUBLIME project.
For realizing sulfide-based all-solid-state batteries, protective coatings for lithium are essential to depress dendrite formation during plating and enhance safety of the cells. Therefore, in SUBLIME we are investigating this topic both from an experimental and theoretical point of view.
Recently, Li2S has been identified as a promising material for protecting the Li surface. A detailed theoretical study has been conducted and the results were published open access in J. Phys. Chem. C by our colleagues from CRF.
